''Aisha'' is a 2010 Indian romantic comedy film directed by Rajshree Ojha, starring Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol in the lead roles and Cyrus Sahukar, Arunoday Singh, Ira Dubey and Amrita Puri in supporting roles. It is set in the upper class society of Delhi, India and is based on the novel by Jane Austen, ''Emma''. She is constantly criticized by her friend/neighbor Arjun (Abhay Deol) who advises her to stop meddling with others lives. She is unperturbed and carries on. She tries to make a match between her small town friend Shefali (Amrita Puri) and one of her friend's, a well to do sweet shop owner Randhir (Cyrus Sahukar). Aisha creates various circumstances to make Shefali and Randhir fall in love. On one such circumstance, she meets her aunt's step-son Dhruv Singh (Arunoday Singh). In the mean time, Arjun introduces to Aisha and her friends, one of his work colleagues Aarti Menon (Lisa Haydon) from New York. Aisha constantly gets annoyed by the presence of Aarti. Randhir organizes a river rafting camp for everyone. One night during the camp, Randhir takes Aisha for a walk and he proposes to her. Taken aback by the behavior of Randhir, Aisha realizes her mistake of playing with Shefali's feelings. Arjun comes to know of the proposal incident and gets angry on Aisha. On the last of the camp, Pinky and Randhir comes of know of each other's common interests. Aisha tries to console Shefali, but she is inconsolable. As time passes by, a small misunderstanding between Pinky and Aisha leads to them not being in talking terms. After a party everyone dances, Arjun and Dhruv (Arunoday Singh) get a drink and talk about Aisha, Dhruv tries to act like he is in love with Aisha and insults Arjun. Arjun punches Dhruv and hurts him. Aisha fails in her attempts and in the due course, she tries to match up Shefali with Dhruv until one day she realises that love does not come by force. She loses her friend Pinky (Ira Dubey) due to her actions who in the end falls in love with Randhir (Cyrus Sahukar). Shefali finds her love in Saurabh (an old friend). Aisha decides to go to Mumbai with Shefali and Dhruv. Shefali thinks that Arjun loves her. Then Aisha and Shefali have a fight. Shefali tells Aisha of how she had been treating her. She realises that she had been selfish and arrogant all along, and has mistreated her friends. Finally, she goes back to her best friend (Pinky) and apologises for her actions. She finally realises her love for Arjun but does not confess it. In the end he comes to her and proposes to her.
